inDrive Hits 5 Billion Rides as Global Expansion Continues

29 Sep 2024

inDrive has announced the completion of 5 billion successful ride bids as of September 2024. The landmark moment, where the 5 billionth deal was completed between a driver and passenger in Peru, highlights the company's rapid global growth since its inception.

Launched in 2012, inDrive introduced a unique bid-based pricing model aimed at providing a fairer ridesharing experience for both drivers and passengers. Over the past 11 years, the company has expanded its reach, with passengers now collectively having traveled 32 billion kilometers, equivalent to over 123,500 years in total travel time.

The company’s growth has not been limited to ride-hailing alone. inDrive has also diversified its services, most recently entering the financial services space for drivers in Mexico, underscoring its commitment to creating opportunities across various sectors.

Reflecting on the milestone, Mark Loughran, President and Deputy CEO of inDrive, expressed his appreciation for the team and the community that has fueled the platform’s success. "Hitting 5 billion deals is not just a numeric achievement. It represents the real-world impact we're making – whether that's improving mobility in underserved areas, creating jobs, or supporting nonprofit initiatives through our inVision program, which focuses on enhancing access to sports, arts, and education."

Loughran further emphasized that the company is on a mission to positively impact 1 billion people by 2030, with this milestone serving as further motivation to grow sustainably while driving positive social change around the globe.
