There have been rumors that Microsoft is preparing to enhance its Bing search engine using artificial intelligence from OpenAI's ChatGPT chatbot, enabling it to provide whole phrases in response to search requests rather than just a list of links.
Microsoft hopes to gain an advantage over Google, its primary search competitor, with the introduction of this new function by the end of March.
Also in 2019, Microsoft will try to recoup the $1 billion it spent on OpenAI.
How Bing will use OpenAI's programs remains a mystery at the moment.

The partnership between Microsoft and OpenAI
In October 2022, reports surfaced that Microsoft was in discussions to make a second, tens of billions of dollar investment in the AI company, which drew a lot of attention to the cooperation between Microsoft and OpenAI in the IT world.
Microsoft agreed to include certain aspects of GPT into Bing as part of their first 2019 commitment to OpenAI.
As a result, Microsoft and OpenAI have been working together to find methods to incorporate GPT into Bing to enhance the user experience; however, it remains unclear if the present version of GPT will be used to run the service.
In 2021, OpenAI launched GPT-3, and by 2022, GPT-3.5 was in use in OpenAI's ChatGPT software. The firm has announced that it is working on a more sophisticated version called GPT-4, although no release date has been given.
Note that in the future, OpenAI plans to charge for ChatGPT, just as it does now for developers who use GPT to make text-generating bots. Given that, Bing may soon be one of the only sources offering unrestricted access to GPT at no cost.
