Abu Bakr Cassim to Lead VC4A's Flagship Program, the Venture Showcase

Abu Bakr Cassim has been appointed as the Acceleration Team Lead at VC4A, an ecosystem builder that connects entrepreneurs with knowledge, network, and funding. As Acceleration Team Lead, Cassim will be responsible for overseeing all acceleration support services within VC4A, providing technical assistance and hands-on support to selected startups and scaleups in emerging markets. He will also lead VC4A’s flagship program, the Venture Showcase.
Vincent Hoogduijn, CEO of VC4A, expressed his gratitude to Cassim for joining the team, citing his reputation, leadership, and expertise as valuable additions to the company's growth and innovation. Cassim is a leading authority in the African startup ecosystem and has gained numerous notable accomplishments throughout his 20+ year professional career.


Before joining VC4A, Cassim achieved significant success as the founder of Additiv Capital and Jozi Angels, which are now two of the most active early-stage investor networks on the African continent. He is also a board member of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN) and was recently voted one of Africa’s 500 most influential people by Tropics lifestyle magazine.
Cassim is no stranger to VC4A and will be working alongside colleagues to advance the company’s mission. He expressed his excitement to join the team, saying that VC4A has built a fantastic foundation for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa and beyond. Cassim is honored to be a part of this dynamic organization that is making a real difference in the world and is looking forward to achieving great things together.
