The Abeokuta Innovation and Tech Party (AITP) is set to revolutionize the tech scene, and members of the Startup Lagos community are invited to join in on this groundbreaking event. Taking place on May 26th and 27th, 2023, at the esteemed Ogun State Tech Hub in Abeokuta, Nigeria, the AITP is co-organized by GetFundedAfrica and the Ogun State Government. The event's theme, "Innovation Knows No Bounds," aims to highlight Abeokuta's emergence as Africa's latest technology hub.
Anticipating an attendance of over 2000 individuals, the AITP will gather more than 100 exhibiting startups, 50 investors, 30 speakers, and 10 corporate partners. This convergence of talent and resources will foster valuable networking opportunities and potential collaborations.
The two-day event boasts an impressive lineup of activities, including an engaging opening ceremony, captivating startup exhibitions, informative panel sessions, a lively bonfire party, and an immersive cultural tour of Abeokuta on Day 2.
Hosting the AITP is H.E Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, with Mrs. Olatomiwa Williams, Country Director of Microsoft Nigeria and Ghana, serving as the Chief Honouree. The special guest for the occasion will be ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, adding to the event's prestige.
Day 1 will commence with the opening ceremony led by the Executive Governor, featuring a plaque unveiling and the dedication of the "Olatomiwa Williams Hall" in recognition of Mrs. Olatomiwa Williams' achievements as the first female Country Manager for Microsoft in West Africa and her Abeokuta roots.
Attendees can look forward to engaging with investors, corporate organizations, mentors, and innovative startups driving Africa's technological advancements. In addition, they will have the opportunity to savor the delectable cuisine of Abeokuta and explore the traditional tie-and-dye craft known as "adire." The day will conclude with an unforgettable bonfire party, providing a festive atmosphere for networking and camaraderie.
Day 2 promises an extraordinary cultural experience as attendees are invited to explore Abeokuta's renowned tourist attractions. Professional tour operators will facilitate visits to the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, OOPL Wildlife Park, Olumo Rock, the Kuti Family Museum, Ake's Palace, and other notable sites, ensuring an enriching and memorable experience.
