Code First Girls is a London-based company that provides employment for women through free education intended to close the gender gap in the tech industry. The company's platform helps women learn to code and work with companies globally, by boosting employability, diversity, and social mobility, transforming local economies and communities. Its programmes include technical skills in coding and programming as well as personal skills, enabling women to train and become job-ready for the tech industry. In addition to the free coding courses and events, Code First Girls undertakes commercial work with some of the world's most well-known companies. Their clients included companies ranging from Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, to Trainline, BT, KKR and Vodafone. Code First: Girls alumnae have gone on to work at companies ranging from Facebook and Thoughtworks to Ocado, Twitter, The Guardian and NASA.
