Zoom is introducing new AI-powered meeting summaries and prompt-based email replies, whiteboard generation with video “Huddles” and a meeting scheduler.
Zoom is now making its email and calendar clients available to all users, so they can rely on its tools to complete tasks.
Companies can utilize these services as alternatives to Microsoft Exchange and Google Workspace. Paid users can use hosted email and calendar services with end-to-end encryption and custom domains.
Zoom has been gradually integrating AI into its tools and features, including analyzing user interactions and meeting recordings.
Zoom IQ will now help users create meeting agendas, chats, emails, and whiteboard sessions. Zoom IQ Assistant will also provide AI-powered summaries when a user joins during a meeting. The meeting summary will be posted to Zoom’s team chat feature once the meeting is complete with an overview of team chat conversations. The company claims to be working with OpenAI on AI capabilities but did not disclose if that cooperation is limited to using APIs or includes other aspects. This follows the introduction of generative AI capabilities in the Google Workspace app and Microsoft Office apps.
