Tunisian startup Wattnow, a company specializing in IoT-based smart energy management, has successfully closed a multi-million dollar funding round aimed at accelerating its global expansion and technological advancements.

Founded in 2018 by Issam Smaali, Wattnow has developed a sophisticated platform that integrates hardware and software to help businesses monitor, analyze, and optimize their energy consumption in real-time.

The recent funding round, reportedly a Series A, was led by Lateral Frontiers and 216 Capital, with participation from other investors, including Outlierz Ventures, Satgana, and notable angel investors like InstaDeep's Karim Beguir and Guillaume Amblard.

This fresh influx of capital will allow Wattnow to scale its operations across more than 11 countries where it already has a presence, including key markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America.

The company’s innovative platform, which leverages machine learning to provide detailed insights through a cloud-based dashboard, is already being utilized by clients in various sectors such as automotive, telecommunications, and banking.

Wattnow's ability to deliver actionable insights and help clients reduce energy waste is a critical component of its growth strategy as it looks to further its reach and enhance its technological offerings.

Issam Smaali expressed that this funding is a significant milestone for the startup, enabling them to continue supporting businesses globally in their transition toward more sustainable energy practices.
