10 Jun 2023

Tabulio, a Nigerian startup, has launched a social network to connect African tech talent with global opportunities. Founded by Tosh Ajibade and Chris Steve in 2019, Tabulio was released as an MVP in 2021. The social networking platform allows users to share their work, connect with employers, and network with tech talent. After a successful beta, Tabulio launched properly in May of last year and has already accumulated over 5,000 users. Tabulio provides techies with a centralized platform on which to share and showcase all types of projects. It also offers access to a community of tech talents to connect and collaborate with, visibility to employers, hiring managers, and global recruiters, and access to global job opportunities. The startup has also partnered with top learning partners in Nigeria such as Treford and Uranus to help facilitate education and upskill users. Tabulio monetizes via subscriptions, advertising, and commissions on a digital product, and has swiftly built a global audience.

According to Ajibade, Tabulio's primary focus is on technical expertise and proficiency, unlike other social networking platforms that concentrate on social capital. The platform aims to connect every capable tech talent to opportunities and address the challenges faced by African talents in accessing global opportunities.

Tabulio has partnered with top learning partners in Nigeria such as Treford and Uranus to facilitate education and upskill users. The startup monetizes via subscriptions, advertising, and commissions on digital products, and has already built a global audience. Although the majority of its users are from Nigeria, Tabulio has also attracted users from Ghana, India, Pakistan, and most parts of Europe.

For companies seeking tech staff or freelancers, Tabulio provides access to a vast pool of talent. The startup has already had over 1,500 projects posted on the platform, providing developers with a dedicated platform to showcase their portfolio.

Tabulio's success shows that the African tech scene is growing and expanding globally. With its platform, the startup is helping to address the challenges faced by African tech talent in accessing global opportunities.
