Nigeria has officially launched the DeepTech_Ready Upskilling programme, an initiative aimed at transforming the country's digital skills landscape and catering to the growing demand for tech talent. The programme was unveiled by Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, as part of the broader 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) initiative. This ambitious programme seeks to position Nigeria as a leading hub for digital skills and innovation within Africa and beyond.

During the launch, Dr. Tijani emphasized that strengthening the 3MTT initiative and deepening its impact remains a top priority for his ministry. He noted that the DeepTech_Ready Upskilling programme is specifically designed to equip young Nigerians with essential skills in emerging technologies, with a focus on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

"The programme is not only a response to the increasing demand for skilled tech talent but also aims to make a significant contribution to Nigeria's digital economy," Dr. Tijani stated. He highlighted the importance of fostering a well-equipped workforce capable of navigating and contributing to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The Minister encouraged young people across Nigeria to take advantage of this unique opportunity, inviting them to apply through the official programme portal. With the expected influx of applicants, the initiative is poised to attract a wide range of individuals eager to enhance their technical skills and play an active role in shaping the future of Nigeria's digital economy.

As the nation continues to invest in its human capital through upskilling programmes like DeepTech_Ready, the hope is to establish a robust foundation for innovation and economic growth, ensuring that Nigeria remains competitive in the global digital arena.
