Meta’s new in-stream advertisement features for creators on Facebook and Instagram are poised to significantly benefit Nigerians with large followings on these platforms.
Eligible creators must meet several requirements. According to Meta, general requirements include: adhering to Facebook’s Partner Monetization policies, being at least 18 years old, and residing in a country eligible for in-stream ads.
For video-on-demand monetization, creators need at least 5,000 followers and 60,000 total minutes viewed in the last 60 days from on-demand live or previously live videos, excluding minutes from crossposted, boosted, or paid watch time. Additionally, the creator's page must have at least five active videos, either on-demand or previously live.
To maintain eligibility, creators must consistently meet these requirements. For live video monetization, creators must have at least 10,000 followers and 600,000 total minutes viewed in the last 60 days, with at least 60,000 minutes from live videos. Pages must also have at least five active videos, including at least three previously live ones.
To earn from ads on Facebook Reels, creators need to produce high-quality original reel content, be over 18, use pages or professional mode, comply with Facebook’s partner monetization policies, and be invited to the program.
