Meta Introduces Creator Lab Live in Nigeria to Empower Emerging Artists

Meta, the tech giant behind Instagram, has unveiled a groundbreaking educational initiative known as Creator Lab Live in Nigeria, aiming to provide essential support to budding artists.

This one-of-a-kind, in-person learning experience recently unfolded in Nigeria, attracting more than 40 enthusiastic young creators. The event's primary goal was to foster collaboration among participants while facilitating direct learning from industry experts.

The introduction of Creator Lab Live follows the successful launch of the Creator Lab edutainment series in March 2022. Initially conceptualized as a foundational program, the Creator Lab series was designed to bolster emerging creators in their artistic journeys and professional careers. The comprehensive program featured workshops focused on refining content creation skills, expanding online communities, and effectively harnessing the diverse tools offered by Instagram.

During the Creator Lab event, Magali de Quillacq, Partner Solutions Manager at Meta, shared invaluable insights and perspectives. Moon Baz, Creator Partnerships Lead for Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey at Meta, expressed profound enthusiasm for the debut of Creator Lab Live in Nigeria. As the first of its kind by Instagram, this distinctive endeavor aims to empower emerging Nigerian creators, adding to the country's already renowned global creative contributions. Baz underscored how this initiative aligns with their commitment to nurturing creators and enabling them to thrive on the Meta platform.

Throughout the program, Rofhiwa Maneta, Strategic Partner Manager for Creators in Sub-Saharan Africa at Meta, provided participants with indispensable guidance to enhance content creation skills, maximize the utility of Instagram's tools, and adhere to community standards. Additionally, Maneta explored strategies for monetizing content through Meta technologies. An integral facet of the initiative was the #PositiveVibesOnlyChallenge, which encouraged creators to develop uplifting content that fosters a better world. A fireside chat further emphasized the significance of authenticity, consistency, and creativity on Instagram, underscoring how the Creator Lab experience propels the creation of exceptional and distinctive content.

The Creator Lab Live event saw the participation of prominent creators who showcased a diverse array of skills and talents. Renowned figures such as Taaooma, Markangelcomedy, Ayomidate, Frank iTom, Miss Techy, De General, Twinz_love, Lizzy Jay, and Geenafoodiesandspice not only graced the occasion with their presence but also actively engaged in the #PositiveVibesOnlyChallenge. This event unequivocally reaffirmed Instagram's steadfast commitment to cultivating a vibrant creator community and fostering innovative content creation.
