Lagos, Nigeria - The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) is proud to announce the official launch of its Volunteer Network Program, aimed at addressing unemployment challenges in the state. As a social impact agency established by the Lagos State Government, LSETF strives to build a network of dedicated professionals who share the organization's vision and are eager to contribute significantly to achieving its objectives.

The Volunteer Network Program offers diverse opportunities for volunteers to make a meaningful difference. These include roles such as training facilitation, mentorship and coaching support, field engagement research, program evaluation/assessment, and more. The program seeks to tap into the expertise and passion of individuals committed to driving positive change in Lagos State.

Candidates for the Volunteer Network Program underwent a rigorous screening and assessment process, following a call for applications. Out of a pool of over 500 applicants, only 41 exceptional individuals were selected and formally welcomed into the program during the launch event held on June 16th, 2023. During the event, volunteers received comprehensive briefings on the program's code of conduct policy, volunteer-beneficiary mapping, and an activity scheduling calendar.

Sheila Ojei, the Director of Strategy, Funding, and Stakeholder Management at LSETF, expressed confidence and optimism for the program, stating, "The launch of the Volunteer Network Program marks a significant milestone in our journey at the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund. By fostering collaboration with our newly onboarded volunteers, we believe we can enhance our capacity to fulfill our mandate and generate remarkable change in Lagos State."

Omu Obilor, Lead Coach at Omu Consulting Limited and a passionate advocate for social impact initiatives, also praised LSETF's efforts, saying, "I have long admired LSETF's approach to wealth and job creation in Lagos State. I am excited to contribute to driving positive change alongside the Fund. I commend them for establishing this platform."

The Volunteer Network Program primarily targets Lagos residents, business professionals with 3 to 8 years of experience in their respective fields, and outstanding business owners with a proven commitment to social impact initiatives. Interested individuals may apply for the program once a year between the first and second quarters.
