Deezer CEO Jeronimo Folgueira Resigns, Board Initiates Search for Successor.

Deezer, the popular music streaming platform, is experiencing a significant shift in leadership. CEO Jeronimo Folgueira has announced his resignation to pursue personal projects. The Board of Directors is actively engaged in selecting a new CEO, with an official appointment expected in the coming days.


Folgueira, who has served as CEO since May 2021, will continue to fulfill his duties until the end of March 2024. The Board expresses deep appreciation for his remarkable contributions, particularly highlighting the achievements made under his leadership during 2023.

Deezer’s strategic roadmap remains a top priority for the company. It focuses on expanding the direct subscriber base in key markets, with a special emphasis on France, while fostering partnership growth for international expansion. The company is committed to achieving its financial objectives, aiming for free cash flow positivity in 2024 and operational profitability by 2025, as outlined during its IPO.


Reflecting on his tenure, Folgueira expressed pride in the accomplishments achieved during his three years as CEO. Notable milestones include strong financial results in 2023, Deezer’s listing on Euronext Paris, the adoption of a new brand identity, the transition to an experience service platform, and the successful introduction of the Artist Centric Payment System. Folgueira extends his gratitude to the management team, staff, and the Board for their unwavering support, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring a seamless leadership transition.
