Canva is introducing a series of new features, including a suite of AI-powered tools and a new Brand Hub. The company launched its new features and tools during its Canva Create virtual event.
The company is launching ‘Assistant’, which lets users search for design elements and provides quick access to features. The tool can also give design recommendations on graphics and styles that match the user's existing design. ‘Assistant’ by Canva provides quick access to AI-powered design tools like ‘Magic Write’, which is the platform’s AI-powered copywriting assistant that launched in December.
Prior to the launch, ‘Magic Write’ was only accessible in Canva Docs; now it will be accessible within all Canva project types and can be used to generate website copy or presentation summaries like social media strategy ideas for a new product launch. Canva announced that ‘Magic Write’ would now be available in 18 languages.
Canva is also launching other features like ‘Beat Sync’, ‘Translate’, which automatically translates text in designs to over 100 different languages, ‘Magic Design’, and a new way to automatically generate presentations.
Also part of the new launch is ‘Brand Hub’, a range of new tools and features designed to help teams stay on brand. The feature includes a new ‘Magic Replace’ tool that allows users to quickly update brand assets, such as logos, across their designs on the platform.
Canva co-founder and CEO Melanie Perkins expressed at the launch the company’s vision to empower users to design anything no matter their skills or experience, saying, "As technology continues to advance, we are reimagining the design process by making it even easier to take what is in your head, get it onto a page, and out into the world, faster than ever before."
Launched in 2013, Canva has over 120 million monthly users, an increase of over 35 million since the launch of its Visual Workspace in 2022. According to the company, more than 15 billion designs have been created using its platform.
