17 May 2023

Bolt has announced its third annual internship program for women in tech, called the Bolt Outternship, which will run in four African countries. The program aims to empower young women to kickstart their careers in tech and will last for three months. It will offer training, mentorship, and internships across various departments. The company launched the #WomeninTech program in 2021, hoping to inspire women to explore tech careers. Bolt is committed to improving gender representation in the industry and will provide valuable work experience for participants. The internship program previously had 12 participants in 2022. The company is also working on a campaign to address the gender gap in ride-hailing. Bolt is dedicated to creating opportunities for women in various initiatives for gender equality. Eligible applicants can apply through the Bolt website.

The Bolt Outternship program presents a great opportunity for women in the tech industry to gain practical work experience and to network with women leaders at Bolt. Participants will also gain valuable insights into the industry and get a chance to work on real-life projects.

Aspiring female tech professionals in the four participating African countries, who meet the eligibility criteria, can apply for the Bolt Outternship program. The eligibility criteria include being a female with an interest in pursuing a career in the tech industry, currently enrolled in a tertiary institution, or a recent graduate of a tertiary institution. Applicants must also be fluent in English and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The Bolt Outternship program is part of Bolt's commitment to creating opportunities for women in tech across Africa. The company recognizes the gender imbalance in the industry and is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion. Through initiatives such as the Bolt Outternship program and the "Women at the Wheel" campaign, Bolt is working to create a more inclusive and sustainable future.
