25 UK Startups Fuelled by Diversity Take Leap with Tech Nation's Libra Programme.

03 Feb 2024

Tech Nation has unleashed a powerhouse of underrepresented talent onto the UK tech scene! Today, they proudly announced the 25 companies chosen for their prestigious Libra programme, designed to ignite the flames of underrepresented founders' businesses.

This year's cohort, a beacon of inclusivity with 56% female-founded or co-founded businesses and 25% hailing from outside London, is ready to break through barriers and soar. Each company carries the torch of innovation, tackling diverse challenges from AI-powered bra fitting to immersive art galleries in the metaverse.

"The tech ecosystem thrives on diversity," declares Tech Nation CEO Carolyn Dawson OBE. "Libra shines a spotlight on these brilliant founders, their voices echoing loud and clear, inspiring a new generation of diverse dreamers."

Libra promises a six-month journey of empowerment, packed with one-on-one coaching, business development blueprints, funding connections, and industry workshops. But the magic doesn't stop there. These entrepreneurs get to pitch their dreams to top VCs, angels, and leaders, forging lasting bonds and propelling their ventures forward.

Chantelle Young, Libra Programme Lead, beams with excitement: "This cohort's grit and talent are simply awe-inspiring. They face systemic hurdles head-on, and their passion fuels their drive to succeed. Witnessing their early networking and resourcefulness warms my heart."

Young's vision for Libra extends beyond individual success. "It's about systemic change," she emphasizes. "We'll amplify their voices, gather invaluable data, and build a thriving community. Every success story, every shared experience, lays the foundation for a truly transformative impact."
