York Angel Investors is a Canadian angel investment group that connects entrepreneurs seeking early-stage funding with investors and partners. The group primarily invests in early-stage technology companies that are working with their initial customers to determine use cases and/or product-market fit. The companies they invest in should ideally have demonstrated that the founder/friends/family capital has been extensively deployed to bring the product or service to, or very nearly to its first revenue customers. The group has over 100 members and has invested over $40 million in more than 350 startups. The members of York Angel Investors are accredited investors with diverse backgrounds, including successful entrepreneurs, professional advisors, and industry executives. They meet monthly to formally present and consider startups selected through their deal selection process. The group is accredited to back applicants for permanent residence in Canada under the Start-Up Visa program
