Maple Leaf Angels (MLA) is a Toronto-based angel investor network that has been active since 2007. The organization comprises high net worth private individuals who invest in seed and early-stage technology companies. The group provides seed investments ranging from $100,000 to $500,000 and is open to individuals who are accredited investors as defined by the Ontario Securities Commission. In addition to direct investments, MLA members also invest in the organization's angel funds, MLA48. Established in 2014, Maple Leaf Angels 48 Limited Partnership (MLA48) is a limited partnership designed to foster innovation in Ontario by accelerating funding timelines for Ontario’s brightest entrepreneurs while providing diversification for accredited investors. The organization also offers support and guidance on business and fundraising strategies, pre and post-investment, and provides networking opportunities, access to follow-on funding, government incentives, local startup resources, and business services through its ecosystem partners and sponsors. MLA members have collectively deployed over $43 million in more than 100 companies.
